Janus & Docker: friends or foe?

The talk deals with issues that arise when deploying WebRTC servers within Docker containers. The Docker Container Networking Model will be briefly introduced, with special focus on the NATted environment Docker provides when you leverage its bridge network. Alessandro will demo and discuss some unexpected shortcomings that have been identified while taking care of Janus deployments for several clients, and elaborate on the suitability of containers for services based on the ICE protocol.

Alessandro got both his MSc degree and Ph.D. from the University of Napoli Federico II. He's co-founder of Meetecho. His interests fall in the field of networking and real-time applications over the Internet. He's a Docker enthusiast and is mainly involved in all systems aspects revolving around Janus. He's also part of the Network Operations Center (NOC) team of the IETF. SSC Napoli fan.
